GBA not turning on after backlight mod. Hey guys I was looking for some help when it comes to trouble shooting my GBA. Tonight I re shelled the system, installed an AGS-101 screen, and a rechargeable battery and now the system won’t power on correctly. When I hit the power switch the power led flashes and literally nothing else happens.
The blue one I dropped in the bath tub as a kid but it works flawlessly still aside from the battery light flickering. Red one I bought as a extra gameboy to shiny hunt pokemon with. I want to at least change the screens to better ones. The Game Boy Advance SP power LED is always RED even on new batteries or LED will flicker/ will restart randomly or if jolted. The most effective method to clean the power switch is to disassemble the switch and ensure everything is clean. Remove all the oxidation and carbon buildup from the inside-out.

Had a used SP with this issue. Opened it up and saw one of the battery contacts was bent, so the system was unable to charge/detect the battery. Simply bent it back into place and it worked fine afterwards. Check the battery contacts and if they seem to be fine, then it could just be the battery itself.

Gameboy Advance SP. I just got a gameboy SP and something I’ve noticed playing it is the battery light. The battery light is green but will occasionally flicker red over and over for a few seconds and then stop. It’s not something that bothers me at all because it’s an old console it’s bound to have some issues.

Flickering lines original GBA Hello, recently I bought a dead GBA, when i opened it, there was a lot of corrosion (liquid damage I guess or battery leaking), checking the PCB i have located two broken tracks, one of them, the GATE pin of the MOSFET in the psu section and the other track is the start button.

Funnyplaying ips screen of the GBA advance keeps flickering. So I bought the Funnyplaying ips screen for my GBA AGS 101. After installation in a custom shell the side of the screen had a slight yellow discoloration at the start but with time it disappears. Anyway I close it and leave it for a couple of days without use and when I finally

I looked it up, saw others having similar issues and tried the following: Replace charger/try a different one. Replace battery/try a different one (having a friend bring a third GBA SP just to double check these two and make sure, but I highly doubt it). Clean the port itself. Clean the inside of the GBA with isopropyl alcohol and the connectors.
Whilst the original would stop flickering at around 8mph/13kph, V2 effectively halves this, and stops flickering at 3-4mph/5-6.5kph. In the real world, this basically means it doesn’t flicker at any realistic riding speed – the light turns solid even if you’re walking the bike relatively quickly.
Same symptom as before - a flash of the charging light then nothing. Or if it’s in power on when I connect a charger the screen flickers on with a green power light and charging light then nothing. I re-soldered the EM8 and the mod and cleaned the MB with isopropyl alcohol and it still won’t turn on
My GBA SP does this too with a new battery I suspect the power curve is different than the device expects and it drops rapidly to 3.6V-ish, triggering the warning. I still get 3-5 hours of playtime even with a blinking light But it does mean the battery sucks or had some flaw in manufacturing. NtATSB.
